About the artist

In my work I create isolating landscapes and capture childhood memories of playing video games and watching VHS tapes. These were activities often spent alone in my childhood bedroom and my art creates a sense of introspection using imagery influenced by these primitive technologies. We have such a close and personal relationship to technology and it is almost entirely unavoidable in this day and age. I want to communicate this connection through my work and emphasize how it can disconnect us from the real world if we let ourselves fall too deep into the digital world. I am visually inspired by retro cell phone and video game advertisements, cosmic landscapes, and philosophy. My background is primarily in printmaking and I utilize various printmaking techniques in my paintings.
